Accommodations are Roomette (room only.) All rooms are for 2 people with a lower and upper bunk. There is no bathroom in the Roomette.

Day 1-Your Journey Begins in Chicago    (27 Jun, 2026 - 2 pm)

The Main Attractions

Yellowstone National Park is located primarily in Wyoming, with parts extending into Montana and Idaho. It holds the distinction of being the world’s first national park, established in 1872. Yellowstone is best known for its remarkable geothermal features, including the famous Old Faithful Geyser and the vibrant Grand Prismatic Spring. The park’s crown jewel is the Going-to-the-Sun Road, a stunning scenic drive that winds through alpine passes and past dramatic vistas. Highlights include the colorful shoreline of Lake McDonald, the awe-inspiring hike to Grinnell Glacier, the wildlife-rich Many Glacier area, and the serene Hidden Lake Overlook. Glacier is also a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, offering chances to see mountain goats, bears, moose, and more. Summer, from July to September, is the best time to visit when most roads, trails, and facilities are fully open, although late June can still bring snow at higher elevations.

Seattle, Washington, is a coastal city surrounded by water, mountains, and evergreen forests. Famous for its thriving tech industry, home to companies like Amazon and Microsoft, Seattle is also known for its vibrant arts scene and cultural landmarks, such as the Space Needle and Pike Place Market. The city is a hub for music, particularly grunge, and has a rich coffee culture, with the original Starbucks located in the heart of downtown. Whether it’s exploring the natural beauty of nearby islands and parks or enjoying the bustling urban vibe, Seattle offers a unique blend of nature, innovation, and creativity.

For Hiking Days:

Moisture-wicking T-shirt or long-sleeve shirt

Lightweight hiking pants or shorts

Wool or synthetic hiking socks

Sturdy hiking boots

Hat (for sun protection)

Day Hike Backpack Essentials:

1. Water:

At least 2 liters per person (more if it’s a long or hot hike)

Hydration bladder or sturdy reusable water bottles

2. Snacks:

High-energy options like trail mix, nuts, energy bars, jerky, dried fruit

3. Layers:

Light fleece or insulated jacket

Packable waterproof rain jacket

4. Navigation:

Park map or trail map (paper or downloaded offline)

GPS app (like AllTrails, Gaia GPS, or Avenza Maps)

5. Sun Protection:

Sunscreen (high SPF)

Lip balm with SPF
