You will be met upon arrival at Nairobi International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Settle in and relax after your long flight as you begin your East African adventure.

DAY 2: Into the Wild – Masai Mara
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to Wilson Airport for a short domestic flight to the Masai Mara. On arrival, a guide will meet you and transfer you to camp.

The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations, home to the Big Five and the annual wildebeest migration. The vast savannahs, acacia trees, and golden sunsets offer unforgettable scenery and exceptional wildlife viewing.

🦓 Fitness Level for This Safari

This safari is suitable for all fitness levels. Most activities are vehicle-based game drives, which require minimal physical exertion. However, guests should be comfortable walking short distances on uneven terrain, getting in and out of safari vehicles, and handling a few early mornings. Optional experiences, such as village visits or light nature walks, are low-impact and at a relaxed pace. If you have any mobility concerns, let us know in advance so we can ensure a seamless and comfortable experience throughout your journey.

💰 Money & Tipping Guidelines

While most expenses are covered in your safari package, we recommend bringing small denominations of U.S. dollars or local currency (Kenyan Shillings and Tanzanian Shillings) for tips and incidentals. Credit cards are accepted at most lodges and camps for extras, but cash is preferred for gratuities. Tipping is customary and deeply appreciated—plan to tip your driver-guide about $10–$20 per guest per day, and camp staff around $5–$10 per guest per day, often collected in a communal tip box. For porters or airport transfers, $1–$2 per bag is standard. Always check with your guide or host for local customs, and feel free to adjust based on the level of service received.

Payment Dates and Cancellation Penalty Amounts

Upon Booking: Deposit due by Sept. 15, 2026: $5000.00 Deposit to secure your space and purchase of Travel Insurance non refundable. But in a nutshell, all payment made towards this trip are non-refundable. It's the only way we can maintain our small group-size and quality of service. Of course, in the highly unlikely event that we need to cancel a trip, you will be offered a full refund or the option to apply your payment(s) towards another trip, your choice.

Final payment due: July 20, 2027 feel free to make payments leading up to the final payment date.

Protect Your Travel Investment: Travel insurance is mandatory for this safari and must be purchased prior to departure. It should include comprehensive coverage for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, and lost or delayed luggage. Traveling through remote areas in Kenya and Tanzania requires added protection in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as illness, injury, or travel delays. Proof of insurance may be required before departure.

💉 Vaccination & Health Requirements

Yellow Fever:

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into Tanzaniaif you're arriving from a country where Yellow Fever is present, including Kenya.

So: If you’re flying from Kenya to Tanzania, you WILL need proof of Yellow Fever vaccination.

The vaccine must be received at least 10 days before travel and is valid for life.

Bring your yellow WHO vaccination card (aka "yellow card") as proof.

As a solo traveler you are responsible for yourself, your possessions, your physical fitness, and all other aspects related to participation in the SG tour you have chosen.

Because of this requirement, SG tours are not suitable for anyone who is physically challenged, walking impaired, or is a slow walker that cannot keep up with the pace of the group.

You are also welcome to purchase your own insurance; however, it must cover the entire cost of the trip and include medical coverage for any trips outside of the United States. Please contact us for specific details.

If you are Traveling in the United States, you do not have to purchase Travel Protection unless you choose to do so. You are, however, required to have health insurance. Proof of health insurance is required. If you choose not to take travel protection you will sign a waiver indicating that you declined coverage.
