Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 2022

One of our favorite Suitcase Gals adventures was our trip to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, and it was so much more than a trip to see hot air balloons. There was something truly magical about watching hundreds of colorful balloons fill the New Mexico sky. We were up early, bundled up and ready for the morning launch, and the excitement was contagious as one balloon after another lifted into the air. Seeing that incredible display together was an experience we will never forget.

Our adventure also included a visit to beautiful Santa Fe, where we experienced a completely different side of New Mexico. We explored the historic streets and Plaza, admired the distinctive adobe architecture, browsed the galleries and shops, and enjoyed the city's wonderful food and Southwestern culture. Santa Fe gave us the opportunity to slow down, wander, explore, and simply enjoy being together.

Of course, some of the best memories came from the time in between the sightseeing. We shared meals, laughed until our sides hurt, took plenty of pictures, and enjoyed getting to know one another. Some women arrived already knowing each other, while others met for the first time on this trip. By the end, new friendships had formed and everyone had plenty of stories to take home.

The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and Santa Fe were a perfect combination for a Suitcase Gals adventure—spectacular scenery, unique experiences, great food, culture, laughter, and, most importantly, connections. It was another reminder that sometimes the best part of traveling isn't just where you go, but the wonderful women you get to experience it with.
